About Robbie Kociela:
 

Robbie Kociela was born and raised in southern California where she graduated with a BFA in three-dimensional art from Chapman University. Robbie has worked in drawing, painting, alcohol ink, sculpture, photography, ceramics and video art.

Her Beautiful Decay series explores derelict ships and boats around the world and brings out their true beauty through use of vibrant colors. Another series involves stylized anatomical hearts that entice the viewer with interesting pictorial narratives. This series started from her own journey with heart disease.

Venturing with more mixed media, Robbie started exploring alcohol inks and soon a whole new door was opened. While still finding the narrative that each piece holds, the alcohol ink has helped create new worlds and an interesting dichotomy of what we perceive life is and what life actually is.

As she continues on her artist journey, she knows there is so much more to explore and she can’t wait to do just that. What makes it even better is that her little girl is following in the artist foot steps and has so much fun holding moms’ hand on this epic journey.
